Seize the Birthday #253 Winged Things

Hello Crafters, 

Happy New Year once again! We are happy to be back with you and hope you are ready to start replenishing those birthday cards that you along with us are going to be needing this year.  If you missed our announcement a week or so ago, you might want to scroll down and get updated on the changes we have made this year here at Seize the Birthday!  I think you are going to like them.  

Before I get to our first Topping of the year, I need to welcome our Next Surprise Party Guest.  Please welcome the talented, Stephanie Lanzalotto!  She will be with us for the month of January and February. 

Welcome, Stephanie!

Here is a little bit about her.

Hi! I am Stephanie Lanzalotto (Stephanie L in the galleries) of My~Ink~Well. I am thrilled and honored to be January and February's Surprise Party Guest at Seize The Birthday. I have always had a "craft du jour" as long as I can remember - macrame, embroidery, needlepoint, knitting, quilting, scrapbooking, etc., but when I took my first card-making class in 2006, I was hooked, and I've been at it ever since. My blogging journey began in 2008. I've been on a number of Design Teams over the years, and in doing so, I've made wonderful friends all over the world. I am currently a long-time DT Member/Admin at Time Out, and playing my favorite challenges for now. I am married to a guy who supports my craft addiction, and a mom to 23-year-old twin boys who are amazing humans, and also great supporters. I have worked most of my professional life in the Book Industry. I love lots of things like art, music, libraries, anything beach-related, and taking time out to craft to name a few.

We also have another guest joining us today, which is a reflection of the changes taking effect this year at STB. ( Info in our last Post)  Elizabeth Stewart was our overall Winner using the topping of "Case a Designer" from our last challenge of 2022, so she is guesting with us for this challenge!

Happy New Year and a Few Changes!

Hello Crafters,

Nancy here, I wanted to pop in today to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well and are eager like us to start working on replenishing that Birthday Card stash that you will be needing this year!  We have a few changes happening here at Seize the Birthday and I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you about them. 

I already mentioned one change in our last post but think it would be wise to recap everything in one post! So here we go!

The first change for 2023 is... We will be having Two Surprise Guests for each challenge.  We will have our usual Surprise Party Guest that is with us for two months and selected by Nancy and or the DT, and is usually picked from people who play in our challenge often, as a thank you.  But, in addition to that, we are inviting JUST the Overall winner from our previous challenge that used the Topping to be our Surprise Party Guest. We are super excited about this addition and hope you will be too! 

To clarify, We will still have our normal five winners. Two Overall Winners; one with the topping and one without, and our 3 Birthday Honours using any combination of with or without the toppings.

Second, I also want to say that DT Member- Jules Peddicord is NOT leaving Seize the Birthday as I previously stated, she was coerced to stay right here with us, along with joining our sister challenge Color Hues...I am very happy about that! YAY!

Our Final Change for 2023 is...Our challenges will always go live at Noon on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month, in hopes that it will make it easier for all of you to remember when they start and when they end. They will continue to run for 12 days and end on a Tuesday. 

I hope you are excited about these changes here at STB and will check back with us on January 12th for our first Topping of 2023!
